Idaho Fireworks Safety Tips

As Idahoans prepare to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country’s birth, fireworks enthusiasts are gearing up for a spectacular display of patriotism. However, with the drought season in full swing, safety concerns are on the rise. Aerial fireworks are illegal to shoot, but not to buy, and the risk of house fires and injuries from improper handling of explosives is a real danger.

Fireworks Safety Tips

The National Safety Council has provided 15 important fireworks safety tips to ensure a smooth and safe celebration. These tips include being aware of local laws and regulations, keeping a fire extinguisher nearby, and never leaving children unattended near fireworks. Idahoans are advised to ask the person they are buying fireworks from about any legal restrictions and to sign an agreement stating they will not break the law.

Police and first responders will be working extra hours during the Independence Day weekend celebrations, which usually begin about a week before July Fourth. With the smell of gunpowder and flashbangs of multiple fireworks shows, it’s essential to prioritize safety and responsibility.
