A Colorado Springs Fire Department fire engine was responding to a medical emergency when it crashed into a bus at the intersection of Tejon Street and Bijou Street, injuring 9 people.
Details of the Crash
Four firefighters and five bus passengers were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The fire engine, which was purchased in 2019, is considered a total loss and will be replaced by an older engine from the department’s reserve.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Colorado Springs Police Department. The police department reported that the fire engine struck the bus, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
