Rio Rancho Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert W. Dodd has released his 100-Day Progress Report, detailing the findings, priorities, and initiatives that have emerged during his first months leading New Mexico’s third-largest school district.
Key Initiatives
Dodd visited all 21 schools in the district and met with a broad range of stakeholders, including educators, students, labor partners, elected officials, community leaders, and educational partners. The superintendent also conducted a comprehensive review of district operations, examining teaching and learning practices, student achievement data, special education services, staffing needs, budgeting processes, and organizational systems.
Among the most notable changes is a district leadership reorganization aimed at strengthening support for schools and improving operational effectiveness. The district also appointed a Chief of Schools and Chief Academic Officer to provide additional leadership and oversight in key areas.
Other initiatives highlighted in the report include the launch of the Superintendent Data Summit series to promote data-informed decision-making, the creation of a Cross-Functional Team for Special Education Excellence, expanded communication efforts, and development of priorities for the district’s 2026-27 ‘Bridge Year,’ a transition period that will guide RRPS toward its next long-term strategic plan.
