St. Pete Beach’s iconic Postcard Inn has reopened its doors as The Luce, following a major renovation after the 2024 hurricanes. The hotel, which remains under the same ownership and management group, has joined Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio collection.
Renovation and Rebranding
The renovation included upgrades to the property’s 200 rooms and a transformation of the outdoor space, featuring fire pits, games, a bigger pool with cabanas, and a beach butler service. Despite the modern upgrades, the hotel’s management worked to preserve the property’s original character, which dates back to 1957.
The hotel’s general manager, Jeremy DaSilva, stated that the community was drastically impacted by the storm surge, and the hotel’s reopening is a testament to the community’s strength. The hotel’s new name, The Luce, means ‘light’ in Italian, which is reflected throughout the property and at its on-site restaurant and bar, Sundrop.
Tammy Black, the first guest to check into The Luce, praised the hotel’s ability to balance its history with a fresh aesthetic. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Luce Hotel is scheduled for June 17.
