Apple’s annual developers conference, WWDC 2026, was marked by the introduction of new features and updates for iPhone, Mac, and other devices. The conference, which was the last for Tim Cook as Apple CEO, highlighted the company’s focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
New Features and Updates
One of the major announcements at WWDC 2026 was the introduction of Siri AI, which is designed to handle more complex requests and carry on longer conversations. The new Siri also features a dedicated app where users can return to past conversations and customize the voice to their liking.
In addition to Siri AI, Apple also announced updates to its operating systems, including iOS 27, which will support older iPhone models. The company also introduced new child safety tools, faster performance, and smarter features across everyday apps.
Parental Controls and Child Safety
Apple’s WWDC 2026 keynote also focused on parental controls and child safety. The company introduced a new Child Account feature, which automatically turns on age-based safeguards, including adult website blocking, media limits, and App Store restrictions. Parents can also convert an existing account into a Child Account and decide which apps their child can use.
Apple also expanded its Ask to Buy feature, which allows parents to review app requests in Messages. A new Ask to Browse feature lets kids request permission before visiting a new website in Safari. These features are designed to give parents more control over their child’s online activities and provide a safer online experience.
