Springfield’s Wicked Superstore Raided

The Wicked Superstore, a smoke shop in Springfield, was raided by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on June 2. The store’s owner, Matthew Good, also known as ‘Mr. Wicked,’ has a background that is quite different from what one might expect. Good, 47, used to work as a banker and even worked for State Farm agent Bob Berke for 13 years.

From Banker to Smoke Shop Owner

Good’s career change is quite surprising. He left his job at Central Bank of the Ozarks in 2021 and created the Wicked Superstore in March 2023. The store advertises itself as ‘Springfield’s only 24 hour Superstore’ and sells various products, including nicotine and THCa vapes, legal shrooms, and accessories.

Good’s online persona is also quite different from his former life as a banker. His Facebook posts show a more carefree and fun-loving person, with posts about enjoying life and having fun. However, his posts also show a more provocative side, with some posts containing obscene language.

The raid on the Wicked Superstore has raised questions about the store’s operations and Good’s business practices. Former employees have come forward, stating that they were not paid for their final week of work and were told that the store was closed indefinitely. The reason for the raid has not been publicly disclosed, and it is unclear if any charges will be filed.

Good has a history of financial issues, with eight court judgments against him, including two small claims filings. He has also filed for Chapter 7 voluntary bankruptcy twice, once in 2003 and again in 2015. The Missouri Division of Employment Security has a $4,248 judgment pending against the Wicked Superstore for unpaid employee taxes.

The Wicked Superstore has been the site of some controversy, including a homicide in the parking lot in July 2024. The store has also had 158 calls for service in the year prior to the raid, according to 911 Director April Ford.
