An Elkhart man is facing multiple preliminary charges after a crash with a horse-drawn buggy in Elkhart County, Indiana. The incident occurred on State Road 13 at County Road 24, just south of Middlebury.
According to law enforcement, 66-year-old Edward Herr was driving a pickup truck behind the horse-drawn buggy when the collision happened. Investigators allege Herr was following too closely and struck the rear of the buggy, causing it to flip onto its side.
The driver of the buggy was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The extent of the injuries has not been released.
Herr was arrested on preliminary charges, but authorities have not released additional details about potential court dates or whether further charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
