A French bulldog mix named Mama Maisie was stolen while her owner, Sophie Ellis-Stetsy, was walking on a trail off Route 1 near the Saugus-Lynnfield line.

Ellis-Stetsy, a dog walker, had Mama Maisie off-leash with several other dogs when a man approached and asked if the dogs were friendly. After Ellis-Stetsy replied that they were, the man picked up Mama Maisie and ran away. Ellis-Stetsy chased after him for 20 minutes but was unable to catch up.

Mama Maisie is a 2-year-old foster dog who holds a special place in the hearts of her owners. The owners are offering a $5,000 reward for her safe return and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
