Arizona Wildcats Land 3-Star Linebacker Davon Smith

The Arizona Wildcats have added another member to their 2027 class with the commitment of Davon Smith, a 3-star linebacker from Texas. Smith, who plays at Westfield High School in Houston, is the third member of his squad to join Arizona’s class, following defensive lineman Logan Draper and safety Jaylin Oliver.

Smith’s High School Career

Smith has had a productive high school career, playing 16 games combined during his freshman and sophomore seasons. During that time, he racked up 78 tackles, 8 for a loss, 2 QB Hurries, a pick, 5 PBUs, and 4 fumble recoveries. He broke out in his junior season, tallying 118 tackles, 24 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, 6 QB Hurries, 3 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles.

Smith had a busy time on the recruiting front, with 22 reported offers. He chose the Wildcats over Arizona State, Colorado, Houston, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Oregon State, and Utah, among others.
