Local Brothers Acquire The Reflector Newspaper

The Reflector, a weekly newspaper serving 30,000 households and businesses in North Clark County, has returned to local ownership after 17 years. Brothers Camden and Mac Spiller, who formed the fast-growing Maddox Industrial Transformer Company in Battleground in 2015, have acquired The Reflector from CT Publishing of Centralia.

Supporting the Community

‘We consider it critical for vibrant communities to be supported by a strong hometown newspaper that keeps citizens informed while providing advertising options for area families and businesses,’ said Camden Spiller. The Spillers plan to take about six months to study how best to ensure The Reflector can serve the North Clark County community for generations to come.

The Reflector was locally owned from its founding in 1909 until 2010, when then-owners Marv and Ann Case sold the newspaper to La Framboise Communications, Inc. That newspaper group was sold to CT Publishing, LLC, in 2021. The Spillers’ acquisition is seen as a positive development for the community, with Chad Taylor of CT Publishing stating, ‘We are fortunate to have found a family so passionate about investing in the community and who appreciate the value of a strong local newspaper.’

The Spiller brothers have invested in several local businesses and properties in East Battleground, including the Battleground Hospitality Collective, which operates restaurants and event venues. They have also developed employment land in East Battleground, demonstrating their commitment to the local economy.
