Greenville Downtown Airport is set to welcome a new eatery, Hangar 28 Kitchen & Events, which aims to capitalize on the city’s aviation community. Trish Ballentine, the owner, plans to create a space that serves as an intersection of prospective communities, where travelers and locals can gather for lunch or business meetings.
Community-Focused Restaurant
Hangar 28 will feature a scratch kitchen with a variety of dishes, including deli sandwiches and parmesan crusted pita melts. The restaurant will also have an event space component, hosting events such as baby showers, artisan markets, and watch parties. Ballentine wants the restaurant to be a safe and welcoming space for families, with a gated area at the nearby playground.
The hangar has a large door that opens out to the runway, providing a unique view for customers. The interior design is still a surprise, but it promises to be inviting. Hangar 28 is expected to open at the end of June or early July.
