A Jonesboro man was arrested after a domestic disturbance involving a knife left a woman with cuts and scratches. Brandon Jarquay Anderson was arrested by the Jonesboro Police Department on suspicion of aggravated assault on a family or household member, a Class D felony, and third-degree battery, a misdemeanor.
Incident Details
According to a probable cause affidavit, an officer responded June 8 to an address on Bowling Lane after a 911 hang-up call. The officer arrived and found a man and woman arguing in the street. The victim had a cut on her forehead, a cut on her right forearm and scratches on her left arm.
The victim told police Anderson woke up in a bad mood and began arguing with her because the air conditioner was broken. The argument escalated and Anderson grabbed a steak knife before walking toward her. The victim told police Anderson stabbed the couch above her head and then began fighting with her over the knife.
Anderson was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center and later appeared before District Judge David Boling, who set his bond at $35,000. His next court date is July 30.
