Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Named to TIME’s 100 Most Influential

Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been named one of TIME’s 100 most influential sports people of 2026. Gilgeous-Alexander, who led the Thunder to the best record in the NBA during the 2025-26 season and won his second straight Most Valuable Player honor, was listed as a titan in TIME’s list.

Achievements and Recognition

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the 2024-2025 regular-season and NBA Finals MVP from the Oklahoma City Thunder, somehow upped his game this season. The Canadian’s shiftiness and ability to stop on a dime for pull-up jumpers and step-backs helped him frustrate opponents and secure his second straight MVP award.

Others included in TIME’s 100 most influential sports people of 2026 are LeBron James, Hilary Knight, Lionel Messi, Victor Wembanyama, Shohei Ohtani, Caitlin Clark, Aaron Judge, Rory McIlroy, Curt Cignetti, and Jack Hughes.
