Japan Wholesale Prices Rise 6.3%

Japanese wholesale prices rose 6.3 percent in the year to May, according to Bank of Japan data.

Details of the Price Increase

The rise in the corporate goods price index (CGPI), which measures the price companies charge each other for their goods and services, compares with the median market forecast for a 5.5 percent annual increase and follows a 5.3 percent annual increase in April.

The details of the price increase are as follows: year-on-year +6.3 percent, month-on-month +0.9 percent, and the May index was 134.5.
