Broadway’s 2026 Tony Awards: Major Winners Announced

Top Honors

In the category of Best Play, ‘LIBERATION’ emerged victorious, standing out among nominees like ‘The Balusters’ and ‘Giant.’ The Best Musical award was claimed by ‘SCHMIGADOON!’, a production that has captured audiences with its vibrant storytelling and music.

Revival Categories

The Best Revival of a Play went to ‘ARTHUR MILLER’S DEATH OF A SALESMAN,’ a classic that continues to resonate with audiences. Meanwhile, ‘RAGTIME’ was awarded Best Revival of a Musical, further cementing its status as a beloved piece of theater.

Outstanding Performances

John Lithgow was recognized for his leading role in ‘GIANT,’ winning Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play. Lesley Manville took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play for her work in ‘OEDIPUS.’

In the musical categories, Joshua Henry’s performance in ‘RAGTIME’ earned him the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. Caissie Levy, also from ‘RAGTIME,’ was honored as Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical.

Featured Roles and Direction

Alden Ehrenreich’s role in ‘BECKY SHAW’ won him Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play, while Laurie Metcalf was awarded Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for ‘ARTHUR MILLER’S DEATH OF A SALESMAN.’

In musical performances, Ali Louis Bourzgui’s work in ‘THE LOST BOYS’ and Shoshana Bean’s role in the same production were recognized in the featured categories.

Joe Mantello’s direction of ‘ARTHUR MILLER’S DEATH OF A SALESMAN’ earned him the Best Direction of a Play award, while Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch were honored for their direction of ‘CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL’ in the musical category.
