A fisherman made a surprising discovery in Lake Cochituate, Massachusetts, when he found a pickup truck submerged in the water. The Wayland Police Department was alerted to the situation around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Investigation Underway
The Massachusetts State Police Dive Team responded to the scene and identified the vehicle as a Nissan Frontier with Maryland license plates. According to Wayland Police Acting Chief Hebert, there is currently no known connection between the vehicle and anyone in Massachusetts. As the truck was found on state property, the Massachusetts State Police will lead the investigation.
At the time of discovery, the truck was unoccupied, and authorities are still trying to determine how long it has been in the lake and whether anyone was inside when it first submerged. Lake Cochituate is located within Cochituate State Park, which spans the towns of Wayland and Natick.
