Michael Forret, a rising star in the world of baseball, has found his way back to Florida, a place that holds significant memories from his college days. After playing one season of JUCO baseball at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, Forret was drafted in the 14th round by the Baltimore Orioles during the 2023 draft. Forret’s return to Florida is a full-circle moment, as he reflects on the possibility of making his major league debut close to where he spent his college years. ‘It is really cool now to think that if and when I make my debut and everything, I’m going to be so close to where I spent my college time and everything which will be awesome,’ Forret shared.
