Residents of Jackson, Wyoming, should prepare for temporary closures next week as Teton County undertakes maintenance and utility work in key areas. The Teton County Fairgrounds parking lot will undergo dust-control treatment, necessitating closures on different days. On Monday, June 8, the east side of the parking lot, stretching from the tennis courts to the western fence line of the Grassy Arena, will be treated with an environmentally friendly magnesium chloride solution. The west side will receive similar treatment on Thursday, June 11. For safety reasons, the parking lot will be closed to all vehicles during these applications. The dust-control measures aim to stabilize unpaved surfaces, enhancing safety for both vehicles and pedestrians.
East Simpson Avenue Utility Work
In addition to the Fairgrounds maintenance, East Simpson Avenue will experience temporary closures due to utility work related to the Justice Center construction. Starting Tuesday, June 9, the alley behind the temporary courthouse at 250 E. Simpson Ave. will be closed, eliminating parking behind the courthouse. On June 10 and 11, a section of East Simpson Avenue directly in front of the courthouse will also be closed, with no street parking available. The utility work involves capping a water line and a sewer line, though water and wastewater services to the courthouse will remain uninterrupted. The closures will culminate on Friday, June 12, with paving activities, after which the areas will reopen once paving is complete.
