As the holiday season approaches, God’s Pantry Food Bank is making sure thousands of central Kentucky families won’t go without a Thanksgiving meal. The Lexington-based organization recently packed 7,000 Thanksgiving boxes destined for families in need across the region — a heartwarming effort that underscores the power of community coming together when it matters most.
The large-scale packing effort reflects the food bank’s ongoing commitment to fighting hunger in central Kentucky, particularly during the holidays when need is greatest and the spirit of giving runs high. Thousands of boxes, each filled with the makings of a holiday meal, will reach families who might otherwise struggle to put food on the table this Thanksgiving.
Also spreading warmth across Lexington this week, the African Children’s Choir brought music and a message of hope to the city. The internationally recognized choir, known for its joyful performances and mission of uplifting children across Africa, made a stop in Lexington to share their talents and inspire local audiences.
Together, these two events capture what makes the Lexington community shine — neighbors looking out for one another, and the arts reminding us all of our shared humanity. Whether it’s a Thanksgiving box packed with care or a song sung with joy, central Kentucky is showing up for each other in a big way this November.
