The Scott Family Amazeum in Bentonville celebrated a major expansion on Saturday, Nov. 7, unveiling new indoor and outdoor spaces designed to enhance learning, recreation and community gatherings.
New Hangout area offers flexible gathering spaces
Dubbed “The Hangout,” the addition includes several rentable rooms that can host birthday parties, meetings and professional‑development sessions. Adjacent outdoor seating allows visitors to relax, eat and enjoy the campus’s central location.
Early Learning Advancement Center focuses on young children
A dedicated Early Learning Advancement Center now provides play‑based activities for children up to six years old. The space emphasizes hands‑on exploration and early‑childhood development, aligning with the museum’s mission to inspire curiosity.
Tourism officials see broader economic impact
Kalene Griffith, CEO of Visit Bentonville, told 40/29 that the expansion reinforces Bentonville’s growing reputation as a regional destination. She noted rising visitor numbers from nearby markets such as Joplin, Springfield, Tulsa, Kansas City and Oklahoma City.
“We’re showing that in the fall of ’26, Kansas was up 18% over the previous year, Texas 17%, and Oklahoma 11%,” Griffith said, highlighting the steady influx of travelers who contribute to local hotels, restaurants and retail.
Griffith added that the new amenities will not only attract first‑time guests but also encourage repeat visits, creating lasting economic benefits for the community.
Local businesses stand to gain
With more visitors staying longer and exploring the expanded museum, nearby businesses anticipate increased patronage. The Hangout’s rentable rooms also provide a venue for local organizations to host events, further integrating the Amazeum into Bentonville’s civic life.
Location and future outlook
The Scott Family Amazeum is located at 1009 Museum Way in Bentonville. As the city continues to invest in cultural and educational attractions, officials expect the expansion to serve as a catalyst for further growth, reinforcing Bentonville’s position as a vibrant hub for families and tourists alike.
