Anderson, Ohio – The Anderson Raptors kept their sights on a third straight appearance in the OHSAA Division II state championship after a commanding 58-28 win over the Withrow Tigers on Friday night. Senior quarterback Owen Scalf orchestrated the offense, connecting on four touchdowns with his top receivers.
Offensive fireworks
Scalf spread the ball to senior wideouts Tysin Weaver and Cooper Kathman, each catching two touchdowns. Weaver hauled in two passes for scores, while Kathman also recorded two touchdowns through the air. The ground game contributed as well, with senior tailback Jordan Davis finding the end zone on a rushing play in the first quarter and later adding a receiving touchdown.
Withrow’s bright spots
The Tigers’ junior quarterback Sa’Vion Davis showed flashes of brilliance, running for a 53‑yard touchdown and throwing a 30‑yard pass to senior wideout Charles Alexander, Jr. He capped his effort with a 74‑yard rushing score, keeping Withrow competitive early.
Defensive stand
The first quarter saw a combined 42 points, but Anderson’s defense tightened after the opening burst. Defensive back Antonie Higgins intercepted Davis for a pick‑six, extending the lead to 21 points with just eight minutes left in the first half. The Raptors’ defense held the Tigers scoreless for the remainder of the game.
Looking ahead
With the win, Anderson improves to 10‑1 overall and 9‑0 in the playoffs, marking their ninth postseason victory since 2023. The Raptors will host the Troy Trojans (10‑2) next Friday night in the regional semifinal.
