Tyler residents will see a major hiring opportunity on Tuesday, Nov. 10, when more than 100 employers set up booths at the Tyler Workforce Center to recruit veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses and other job seekers. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with an opening ceremony honoring veterans beginning at 9:30 a.m., according to KLTV.
The job fair is organized by Workforce Solutions East Texas and is part of the Texas Workforce Commission’s 15th annual Hiring Red, White & You! series. Across the state, nearly 30 hiring events are scheduled between Nov. 2 and Nov. 20, giving communities a coordinated push to connect qualified talent with local businesses.
“Knowledge, skills, and abilities—hard‑won across the country and around the world—make our communities stronger and more vibrant,” said Doug Shryock, executive director of Workforce Solutions East Texas and a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel. Shryock emphasized that the fair not only supports veterans but also bolsters Tyler’s economy by bringing a wide range of employers to a single, accessible location.
The event is a collaborative effort involving the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Workforce Solutions, the Texas Veterans Commission and the Texas Medical Center. By pooling resources, the partners aim to streamline the hiring process and ensure that employers can meet the specific needs of veterans and their families.
Tyler residents who wish to attend can register online via the link provided by Workforce Solutions East Texas. The fair is open to the public, and participants are encouraged to arrive early for the ceremony and to take advantage of the full three‑hour window for interviews and networking. With more than 100 employers on site, the event promises a robust selection of job openings across multiple industries, making it a key date on the local employment calendar.
