CASPER, WY — Natrona County District Court processed several criminal matters this week, underscoring the county’s commitment to law‑and‑order and community safety.
Aggravated assault case
Judge Kerri Johnson denied a request to lower the $100,000 cash‑only bond for Shade Allen Meacham, 28, of Mills. Meacham pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly pointing a revolver at two passengers on Aug. 14, 2026. Witnesses described the firearm as a “cowboy‑style” revolver and said Meacham discharged it while it was aimed at the ground, believing the discharge was accidental. While in custody, Meacham was also charged with possession of a small bag of presumptive‑positive methamphetamine found in his shoe.
Glenrock meth plea
Glenrock resident Carter Jo Fleck pleaded guilty to possession of about 31 grams of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor cocaine possession charge after Casper police responded to a suspected shoplifting incident at Menards on Aug. 14. A device intended to cheat a drug test was also discovered in the vehicle’s glove box. Fleck faces up to seven years in prison, though the sentence will run concurrently with a probation revocation stemming from a prior felony‑weight meth case.
Domestic battery plea
Michael Phillip Martinez, 48, entered a guilty plea to third‑in‑10‑years domestic battery before Judge Josh Eames on Nov. 6. Prosecutors will seek no prison time, but Martinez will remain in custody without bond until sentencing in two to four months. The plea includes a continuing no‑contact order with the victim.
Theft plea
Nicholas Adam Lipham, 35, pleaded guilty to felony theft after a woman reported $1,200 missing from a jewelry stand in her bedroom closet. Police located Lipham with loose cash in his vehicle and matched forensic evidence to him. The plea agreement calls for no prison time and $100 in restitution.
These proceedings reflect Natrona County’s ongoing efforts to address violent and property crimes while ensuring due process for all defendants.
