Ventura County Operation Night Fall Leads to Seven Arrests for Child Abuse Material

Ventura County law‑enforcement agencies announced a successful conclusion to Operation Night Fall, a joint federal, state and local effort that targeted the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The operation, which ran from September 21 to October 8, 2026, executed 24 search warrants—including seven at private residences—collecting critical evidence and leading to seven arrests.

Arrests and Court Dates

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office disclosed the names and upcoming court appearances of the individuals charged:

  • Miguel Del Cid of Simi Valley – charged with possession of child sexual abuse material; early disposition conference scheduled for November 12, 2026.
  • Nicholas Lara of Oxnard – charged with possession of child sexual abuse material; early disposition conference scheduled for November 10, 2026.
  • Thomas Outlaw of Oxnard – charged with possession of child sexual abuse material and possession with intent to distribute; early disposition conference scheduled for December 1, 2026.
  • Nocuma Alvitre of Ventura – charged with possession of child sexual abuse material; early disposition conference scheduled for December 1, 2026.
  • Kevin Carmona of Bakersfield – charged with possession of child sexual abuse material; early disposition conference scheduled for December 9, 2026.
  • Daniel Orozco of Oxnard – charged with possession of child sexual abuse material; early disposition conference scheduled for December 4, 2026.
  • A minor male from Simi Valley – charged with possession of child sexual abuse material; a separate individual was placed on hold for parole‑violation concerns.

All defendants face early disposition conferences, a process that allows the district attorney’s office to consider alternatives to trial when appropriate, while still holding offenders accountable.

Law‑Enforcement Collaboration

Operation Night Fall demonstrated the power of coordinated action among Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies, the California Highway Patrol, the FBI and other federal partners. By sharing intelligence and resources, the agencies were able to identify suspects, secure digital evidence and execute search warrants swiftly and safely.

DA’s Commitment to Child Safety

District Attorney Erik Nasarenko emphasized the moral imperative behind the operation: “Protecting children from sexual exploitation is a central mission for our office, and we will continue to aggressively pursue those who seek to harm them. Operation Night Fall demonstrates the importance of coordinated law‑enforcement efforts in identifying offenders, securing critical evidence, and holding those accused accountable.”

Community Impact

The arrests send a clear message to anyone who would exploit vulnerable children: Ventura County will not tolerate such crimes. Community leaders and faith‑based groups have praised the effort, noting that safeguarding children aligns with the county’s core values of family, faith and personal liberty.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local authorities. The district attorney’s office continues to provide resources for victims and families affected by child sexual exploitation.

Next Steps

As the early disposition conferences approach, the district attorney’s office will assess each case individually, balancing the need for justice with opportunities for rehabilitation where appropriate. The collaborative model used in Operation Night Fall is expected to serve as a template for future initiatives aimed at protecting children across California.
