Allen residents seeking new employment will have a rare opportunity on Nov. 19 when Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas hosts its annual Hiring Red, White & You! career fair. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel & Convention Center, 777 Watters Creek Blvd.
Broad Range of Openings
Based on employer registrations as of Oct. 28, organizers expect 110 participating companies to offer a total of 3,197 job openings. Positions span entry‑level roles to professional careers that pay six figures. Industries represented include government, manufacturing, health care, education, finance, technology and more.
Skilled‑trade opportunities feature welders, electricians, HVAC technicians, machine operators, CDL drivers and maintenance technicians. Major North Texas manufacturers such as Texas Instruments and Peterbilt Motors will be on site.
Health‑care and social‑service providers are recruiting nurses, caregivers and direct‑care staff, while education employers include Plano ISD, Collin College and the University of North Texas System.
Technology and engineering roles are highlighted by L3Harris Technologies, which alone anticipates roughly 300 engineering and IT openings. Military recruiters from the U.S. Army, Navy Reserve and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will also be present to connect service members with civilian careers.
Veterans and Military Families Welcome
Although the fair is open to all job seekers, it is specifically designed to connect veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses with employers that value their experience. “Hiring Red, White & You! is an opportunity to recognize the service and sacrifice of our veterans and military families by helping connect them with meaningful career opportunities,” said Phedra Redifer, executive director of Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas.
Redifer also thanked the Allen Economic Development Corporation for sponsoring the event and encouraged residents to attend: “If you’re looking for a job or a better one, come see us.”
Statewide Hiring Effort
The Allen fair is part of a statewide November hiring initiative coordinated by local Workforce Solutions boards, the Texas Workforce Commission and the Texas Veterans Commission. Since its inception in 2012, the program has involved more than 26,500 employers, connected over 153,000 job seekers and generated more than 4,300 same‑day hires.
In addition to the Allen event, Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas will host a second fair on Nov. 12 at the Cleburne Conference Center, where 60 employers are expected to present 1,732 openings. Together, the two North Texas fairs will showcase more than 4,900 available jobs.
How to Attend
The Allen career fair is free and open to the public. Job seekers are encouraged to pre‑register online, bring multiple copies of their résumé and arrive prepared to speak directly with employers. Attendees should plan to arrive early, as the fair typically fills quickly.
