Tyler residents gathered Wednesday evening for the kickoff of the Junior League of Tyler’s 48th annual Mistletoe and Magic holiday market, a community‑focused shopping event intended to raise over $500,000 for Smith County nonprofit programs.
According to KLTV, the market is being held at the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center and includes more than 72 vendors from Texas, Louisiana and neighboring states. Items for sale range from women’s boutique clothing and artwork to specialty foods, spice mixes, pet supplies and children’s ride‑on ponies.
General admission tickets cost $12 and can be purchased at the door or online. The public shopping session opened Thursday at 11 a.m. after a private morning session that drew an estimated 650 attendees, KLTV reported.
“Every dollar that we raise goes right back into our community,” said Lindsay Durr, the event chair. She noted that the Junior League not only donates money to local nonprofits but also sends women volunteers to support those organizations directly.
A committee of 42 women has been planning the market since last year, handling decorations, vendor recruitment and the weekend schedule, KLTV added.
The market follows a successful 2025 edition that netted more than $480,000 through booth fees, ticket sales and auctions. Organizers have set a goal to exceed $500,000 this year, with proceeds earmarked for several community initiatives, including care closets that provide hygiene products to schools, the Girl Power leadership seminar for sixth‑grade girls, Bethesda Health Clinic and Discovery Science Place.
Ticketed events are scheduled throughout the weekend. On Friday at 2 p.m., a holiday tea will be held in the Rose Garden Rose Room. Friday evening features a Girls’ Night Out with a style show, custom shopping bags and live monogramming, in partnership with the Potpourri House. Saturday’s family‑focused programming includes Santa photo sessions, a sold‑out Breakfast with Santa and a Cookies and Cocoa with Claus gathering at 1 p.m., KLTV noted.
What’s next: The market remains open to the public until Saturday at 4 p.m. Residents can purchase tickets at the venue or via mistletoeandmagic.com, and can attend the scheduled holiday tea, Girls’ Night Out and Saturday children’s events before the market closes.
