Baylor Scott & White Opens New Orthopedic Clinic in Frisco

Baylor Scott & White has broadened its orthopedic care offerings by opening a new clinic at the Frisco PGA Parkway location. This facility aims to provide residents with access to a wide range of orthopedic services under one roof, making it a valuable healthcare resource for the growing community.

Comprehensive Care for the Active Community

Leading the sports medicine services at the clinic is Dr. Matthew Paul, an orthopedic shoulder and knee specialist. Dr. Paul, originally from Garland, Texas, returned to North Texas after nearly two decades of practice in California. He expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the new clinic, stating, “When they offered me the opportunity to be a part of this program, I couldn’t think of a better place to be.”

The clinic caters to a diverse range of patients, from young athletes to older adults, addressing injuries such as meniscus and ligament tears in the knee and shoulder injuries from various physical activities. The goal is to help patients return to their preferred activities, whether that means getting back to work, enjoying a favorite sport, or simply moving without pain. Treatment plans are individualized and may include physical therapy, rehabilitation, injections, or surgery.

Patient-Centered Approach

A key component of the clinic’s approach is patient education. Providers take the time to explain injuries using imaging tools like X-rays and MRIs and offer digital resources for patients to review at home. This ensures that patients feel informed and confident in their treatment plans.

Dr. Paul shared a success story of a patient who, after suffering a severe knee fracture, underwent surgery and rehabilitation. Five months later, she returned to the clinic, walking pain-free and with a full range of motion, expressing her gratitude for the care she received.

Orthopedic Specialties Available

Beyond sports medicine, the clinic offers a range of orthopedic specialties, including foot and ankle care, hand, wrist, and elbow treatment, hip and knee care, back and spine services, and orthopedic trauma care. This comprehensive approach allows for coordinated care close to home.

Dr. Paul emphasized the importance of having specialized care available, noting, “If I have a concern with a patient who has a complex hand injury or a complex foot injury, we have a specialist available to treat them.”

Supporting Frisco’s Growth

As Frisco continues to grow, the new clinic is poised to become a cornerstone of the community’s healthcare landscape. Dr. Paul described the clinic as “a fantastic place,” highlighting its vibrant and peaceful environment.
