In Dhaka, Bangladesh, a rare albino buffalo named Donald Trump has become a major attraction at the national zoo. The animal, noted for its golden locks reminiscent of the former U.S. president, has been drawing large crowds since its arrival last week.
The buffalo, originally destined for slaughter during the Muslim festival of sacrifice, was transferred to the zoo due to security concerns after a video of the animal went viral on social media. The video highlighted the buffalo’s striking resemblance to Donald Trump, particularly its blond tuft of hair.
Visitors, including families with young children, have been flocking to the zoo to catch a glimpse of the buffalo. A zoo worker has been tasked with pampering the animal, ensuring it remains cool in the sweltering heat by hosing it down and brushing its hair.
Mohammed Nasim, a student in Dhaka, commented on the buffalo’s unique appearance, noting the similarity to Donald Trump in its eyes, hairstyle, and skin color. He remarked on the attention and special treatment the buffalo has received, drawing parallels to the lifestyle of the former president.
Initially, the buffalo’s enclosure featured a sign with the name “Donald Trump,” which has since been removed. The zoo curator was dismissed, though no official reason was provided for the termination. Some locals, like Mohammad Joynal Adedin, expressed disapproval of naming a farm animal after a prominent leader, considering it disrespectful.
The buffalo was sold ahead of Eid al-Adha, the “Feast of Sacrifice.” However, the government intervened, and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed ordered the animal’s transfer to the zoo, refunding the buyer. Mohammad Habibur Rahman, a visitor from Jashore, shared his curiosity about the buffalo, having seen social media posts about its potential sacrifice and subsequent relocation to the zoo.
