During the chase, an object was ejected from the vehicle and landed on the roadway. Deputies recovered the item, which was identified as a pipe laced with fentanyl, a potent opioid that has devastated families across Florida.
When the deputy finally stopped the SUV, the driver attempted to accelerate again. The officer moved in, disabled the vehicle and secured the scene. Inside the backseat, deputies discovered a one‑year‑old child sitting behind the driver.
