Bend Welcomes Meteorological Summer with Warm Temperatures

Bend, Oregon, is embracing the start of Meteorological Summer with a week of sunshine and temperatures climbing above the seasonal average. Defined by the three warmest months of the year—June, July, and August—Meteorological Summer is distinct from Astronomical Summer, which is determined by the earth’s position relative to the sun.

Warm Weather Forecast

This week, Bend residents can expect temperatures to rise above the typical early June highs of around 70°F. Tuesday is anticipated to be the warmest day, with highs reaching the low 80s, accompanied by plenty of sunshine and light winds.

Midweek, a weak short wave of energy will bring some light rain to Central Oregon, causing a slight dip in temperatures due to increased cloud cover. Despite this, temperatures on Wednesday will remain above normal, reaching the mid-70s. There is a slight chance of a passing shower and an isolated thunderstorm in eastern Oregon, though the forecast for the Tri-Counties remains largely quiet.

Weekend Outlook

As the week progresses, conditions will become partly cloudy, with highs in the mid-70s on both Thursday and Friday. A moisture-starved cold front is expected to pass through early Saturday, increasing cloud cover but not bringing rain. Weekend temperatures will cool to the mid to upper 60s.

Looking ahead to next week, warmer weather is set to return, with Monday and Tuesday seeing highs in the mid-70s once more.
