Fort Worth Stockyards Welcomes New Hotel Developments

Fort Worth’s historic Stockyards district is witnessing a surge in hotel development, promising to enhance the area’s appeal to both tourists and locals. The latest addition is a 138-room Tempo by Hilton, proposed by Wisconsin-based Raymond Management Co., known for its successful hotel ventures in the region. This new establishment will be located at 2219 N. Main St., replacing an existing auto repair shop. The hotel will feature modern amenities such as Bluetooth speakers and Peloton-equipped rooms, catering to contemporary travelers.

Major Renovations and New Projects

In addition to the new Tempo by Hilton, the Hyatt Place Fort Worth Historic Stockyards is undergoing a significant $9 million renovation. Originally opened in 2005, this five-story, 101-room hotel will see both interior and exterior upgrades, with work commencing in August and expected to conclude by January 2027. The renovations are part of a broader effort by Stockyards Heritage Development, a partnership between the Hickman family and Majestic Realty Co., to revitalize the area. The city of Fort Worth has supported these efforts with $26 million in incentives since 2014, contributing to a tripling of annual visitors to the Stockyards.

Meanwhile, a boutique hotel proposal at 2414 Clinton Ave. has been revised. Developer Trey Neville now plans to construct a three-story, 12,000-square-foot mixed-use building on the site, incorporating a restaurant on the ground floor and office spaces above. This project, recently approved by the Fort Worth Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission, aims to preserve the historic character of the Exchange Avenue corridor.

These developments reflect a commitment to maintaining the unique spirit of the Stockyards while accommodating modern needs, ensuring the area remains a vibrant destination for years to come.
