Franklin Primary Health Center Holds Community Breast Cancer Awareness Fair in Mobile

Mobile, Ala. – On Tuesday, Franklin Primary Health Center opened its doors at the Franklin Medical Mall for the annual Pink for Prevention health fair, a community‑focused event that aligns with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The fair brought together health professionals, volunteers and residents for a day of early‑detection education, free screenings and a wide array of wellness resources, all under one roof.

Free screenings and on‑site assistance

Attendees received breast cancer education, general health screenings and referrals to community resources. The clinic also provided on‑site help for those without insurance, reinforcing the message that quality health care is available to every citizen, regardless of ability to pay.

Local leaders stress community impact

“It makes me feel great. It lets me know that Franklin is really an advocate in the community,” said nurse practitioner Suporior Campbell. “We are spreading the word regarding our concern for women’s health and, not only women, but for men as well. We love seeing people come out to get the information to be better advocates for their own health care.”

Mobile City Council member Napoleon Bracy highlighted the importance of local access to care. “A lot of times people think they have to travel far to receive high‑quality health care,” Bracy said. “You can receive high‑quality health care right here in our community, right here at the bus stop. It’s available to all citizens, whether you have insurance or not. Regardless of their ability to pay, we’re here for the community to provide these services.”

Bracy added that the health fair showcased the breadth of services offered at the center: “You can come here. Pediatrics can come here. We have a pharmacy, OB, mammograms, lab work, optometry, dental services, and help signing up for insurance—all right here in Mobile.”

Supporting families and faith‑based values

The event reflected the community’s commitment to family health and the Christian principle of caring for one’s neighbor. By providing free, comprehensive services, the fair helped families protect their loved ones and reinforced the moral imperative to look after the vulnerable.

Looking ahead

Franklin Primary Health Center plans to continue the Pink for Prevention initiative each October, aiming to expand outreach and education throughout the region. Organizers hope the fair will inspire more residents to schedule regular check‑ups and take proactive steps toward long‑term wellness.
