This Halloween season, the Fargo-Moorhead community is turning bingo night into something truly meaningful. A special tool bingo event is set to raise an ambitious $31,000 — all aimed at rebuilding homes right here in the region.
The fundraiser, highlighted by The Flag (AM 1100 and FM 92.3 WZFG), blends community fun with a deeply practical purpose: putting tools and resources to work so that local families can have safe, restored places to call home. Participants have the chance to win tools while supporting a cause that directly strengthens neighborhoods across the area.
Events like this reflect the generous, roll-up-your-sleeves spirit that defines the Fargo community. Whether it’s swinging a hammer or marking a bingo card, everyone who takes part plays a role in making a neighbor’s home whole again.
Also brightening the week for local transit riders, MATBUS is running its annual Try MATBUS Week, offering free rides and daily giveaways across the Fargo-Moorhead metro. The promotion, reported by WDAY Radio, is designed to introduce more residents to the public bus system and encourage sustainable, affordable transportation options throughout the community. Daily giveaways add a festive touch, making it easy — and rewarding — for newcomers to hop on board and discover just how convenient local transit can be.
Together, these two initiatives capture what makes Fargo special: neighbors looking out for neighbors, whether that means rebuilding a roof over someone’s head or simply making it easier to get across town. If you’re looking for a way to give back — or just want to try something new — this is a great week to get involved.
