Colorado Springs police announced a successful raid on an alleged illegal gambling establishment located near North Academy Boulevard and San Miguel Street. The operation, carried out on Oct. 23, resulted in the seizure of five firearms, over 50 grams of methamphetamine and $11,700 in cash.
Investigation began with community tips
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers started receiving Crime Stoppers tips from residents in August 2026 about suspicious activity at an after‑hours club in the area. Patrol officers, Metro narcotics detectives, and other specialized units spent several weeks conducting surveillance, undercover investigations and interviewing witnesses.
The detectives concluded that the business was involved in narcotics distribution and illegal gambling. With that intelligence, CSPD’s Stetson Hills Division, Metro Division detectives, K9 officers, the Real Time Crime Center and the Directed Area Response Team obtained a search warrant.
Raid execution and seizure details
When officers arrived at the location, employees allegedly locked the front door and refused entry. After a brief period of verbal communication, officers safely breached the door, allowing more than 25 patrons inside the venue to exit.
During the search, officers recovered:
- Five firearms, including two handguns and three rifles
- More than 50 grams of methamphetamine
- Cash totaling $11,700
No injuries were reported among officers or patrons during the operation.
Ongoing investigation
CSPD emphasized that the investigation remains active. Detectives will continue to analyze evidence, interview additional witnesses and pursue any leads related to the alleged narcotics distribution and gambling activities.
Residents who have information about the case are encouraged to contact CSPD or submit tips through Crime Stoppers.
Community impact
The raid underscores CSPD’s commitment to proactive policing and protecting Colorado Springs neighborhoods from illegal enterprises that threaten public safety. By acting on community tips and employing a multi‑agency approach, the department aims to deter future criminal activity and maintain a safe environment for families and businesses alike.
