Humble families have a new reason to celebrate this fall. Golden Root Academy & Respite Center announced a free community Fall Fest & Costume Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., just days before the center officially opens its doors on Oct. 26.
Event details and activities
The celebration, organized by the locally owned, women‑owned child‑care center, will feature a bubble party, pumpkin decorating stations, seasonal crafts, a costume parade, classic carnival games and a selection of treats and snacks. Attendees will also be invited to tour the brand‑new facility and meet the staff who will be caring for the children.
About Golden Root Academy & Respite Center
Golden Root will serve children from six weeks to 12 years old, offering both full‑time and part‑time preschool programs as well as before‑ and after‑school care options. Assistant Director Janice Hernandez emphasized the center’s mission in an Oct. 15 email: “Golden Root is a locally owned and operated, women‑owned child‑care center right here in Humble, and we’re so proud to be opening our doors to local families. We believe this will make a real impact on our community by offering high‑quality, caring early education and child care for children of all abilities.”
Why the event matters to Humble
Access to reliable, high‑quality child‑care remains a cornerstone of strong families and thriving neighborhoods. By providing a range of flexible care options, Golden Root aims to support working parents, grandparents, and caregivers who need dependable services for children of varying ages and needs. The Fall Fest offers a chance for residents to learn about these services, ask questions, and see the welcoming environment first‑hand.
Practical information
The festival is open to the public and free of charge. It will be held on the Golden Root campus at its Humble location (exact address provided by the center). Families are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the full lineup of activities and to take a guided tour before the official opening later in the week.
Looking ahead
With the grand opening slated for Oct. 26, Golden Root Academy & Respite Center is poised to become a valuable resource for Humble’s growing families. The center’s emphasis on inclusive, high‑quality early education aligns with the community’s commitment to nurturing the next generation in a safe, supportive environment.
