The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) and the Miller County Office of Emergency Management have launched a coordinated search operation for two missing men from Louisiana. The search, which began on Wednesday, will continue through Thursday as authorities work diligently to locate Jonathan Bohrer and Johnny Hamilton. Although both men are from Louisiana, there is no evidence to suggest that their disappearances are connected.
Community Involvement and Search Efforts
The search operation is a collaborative effort involving TAPD’s criminal investigation division, The Morgan Nick Foundation, and numerous trained volunteers. The primary objective is to expand the search area, follow up on investigative leads, and ultimately ensure the safe return of both individuals. The Morgan Nick Foundation is utilizing search dogs to assist in the operation, and TAPD has requested that community members keep their personal dogs secured to avoid interference.
Search teams are actively working across designated areas, focusing on locations where the vehicles of both Hamilton and Bohrer were found. These search zones will be expanded as necessary. TAPD encourages the community to be aware of increased activity in these areas and to report any information that could aid investigators through TAPD’s reporting channels.
Safety Measures and Public Cooperation
For the safety of both the search teams and the public, Roberts Street at the entrance to Poindexter Park has been closed. Barricades have been placed at both entrances to prevent access to the area during the search operation. TAPD has emphasized that the volunteers participating in the search are highly trained, and there is no current need for additional volunteers from the public.
