Firefighters Rescue Young Goat Trapped in Thompson Utility Trailer

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, firefighters in Thompson came to the rescue of a young goat that found itself in a tricky situation over the weekend. The incident occurred on Sunday evening when caretakers noticed the goat trapped within the steel framework of a utility trailer.

Community Response

Firefighters were alerted to the scene around 9:11 p.m. after concerned caretakers had made several unsuccessful attempts to free the animal. According to witnesses, the goat’s horns appeared to have grown during the ordeal, making it increasingly difficult for the animal to escape on its own.

Upon arrival, the fire crew assessed the situation and decided that the safest course of action was to remove a section of steel angle iron from the trailer. This careful maneuver allowed them to free the goat without causing any harm.

Successful Rescue

In a light-hearted Facebook post, fire officials shared that the goat was ‘humbled and thankful’ but humorously declined to explain why it had stuck its head into the trailer in the first place. The post noted the goat’s only responses were the occasional ‘meeehh’ and ‘baaaaa.’

Once freed, the young goat resumed its normal activities and is reportedly doing well. The incident concluded without any injuries, highlighting the effective and compassionate response of the local firefighters.
