Shreveport, Louisiana, is once again hosting a unique and magical event at the Shreveport Aquarium. The much-loved mermaid performances have returned for a limited time, bringing joy and wonder to families and visitors of all ages.

Family-Friendly Entertainment

The event, which began on May 30, features live underwater performances by the internationally acclaimed Aqua Mermaid team. These talented performers swim alongside sharks, tropical fish, and other marine life, creating a captivating spectacle for aquarium guests. In addition to the performances, visitors have the opportunity to meet the mermaids and capture the moment with photo sessions.

Brooklynn Bailey, a visitor to the aquarium, shared her excitement, saying, “My experience with the mermaids was excellent. Seeing them and taking pictures with them was like my dream come true.”

Enhancing Downtown Shreveport

Morgan Nix, the aquarium’s program coordinator, emphasized the special nature of this event for the local community. “There’s just not a lot of magical experiences to be had in Shreveport, specifically in downtown Shreveport,” Nix explained. “For the past two years, we’ve seen how special it’s been for families.”

The event not only provides entertainment but also draws attention to downtown Shreveport, contributing to the area’s vibrancy and appeal.

Upcoming Activities

As the event continues, additional activities are planned for the final weekend. On June 6, a VIP Mermaid Makeover will offer face painting, arts and crafts, cupcakes, lemonade, and themed accessories, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.

The mermaid magic is set to continue from June 4 through June 7, providing a limited window for families to enjoy this enchanting attraction at the Shreveport Aquarium.
