Former NFL Player Greg Hardy Suffers Knockout in MMA Bout

Greg Hardy, known for his past as a defensive end with the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers, faced a challenging night in the MMA cage. Competing in the Fight Nation Championship 31, Hardy was knocked out by Serbian fighter Darko Stosic, despite entering the bout with a 52-pound weight advantage.

Weight Advantage Falls Short

The fight, originally slated as a heavyweight bout, saw Hardy miss the weight limit by 25 pounds. However, the extra weight did not translate into victory. Stosic delivered a decisive left hook in the third round, sending Hardy to the mat. A follow-up hammer fist from Stosic prompted the referee to stop the fight, awarding Stosic the knockout win.

Hardy’s MMA Struggles

This loss marks Hardy’s fourth defeat in his last five MMA bouts, each ending in a knockout or technical knockout. His recent performance includes losses in the UFC against Tai Tuivasa and Serghei Spivac. Earlier this year, Hardy secured a win against Philip Latu at Peak Fighting 50, but he was unable to replicate that success against Stosic.

Stosic’s Rising Momentum

Darko Stosic, with this victory, improved his record to 23-8, boasting 17 knockouts. The Serbian fighter has won six of his last eight fights and is currently on a two-bout winning streak, having previously defeated Oli Thompson at Fight Nation Championship 27.
