Denmark, Wisconsin celebrated the grand opening of its newly renovated community center on Wednesday evening. The building, which has served the village since 1921 as a school and later as a civic space, now houses a modern branch of the Brown County Library, a Community First Credit Union Center, a fitness gym, and a JobPod resource hub for job seekers.
Library and Learning Resources
The library portion offers collections for all ages, including books, magazines, movies, and video games. Patrons can also use the commons area, equipped with laptops, printers, and charging stations, to study or work on personal projects. Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach highlighted the role of a state grant in completing the project. “We are looking for these types of partnerships, we are 100% wanting to make sure that the community is invested just like the county,” Streckenbach said. “Oftentimes government goes and puts something there but maybe the community didn’t want it; this is a perfect example where the community wanted it.”
