Coroner Identifies 20-Year-Old Man Killed in Workplace Accident at Louisville Tire Discounters

Louisville Metro Police, EMS and Jeffersontown Fire crews were dispatched to the Tire Discounters garage located in the 12900 block of Taylorsville Road shortly after 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, responding to reports of a person down inside the business.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the concrete floor of the garage area. Despite immediate medical attention, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victim Identified

The Louisville Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the deceased. The man was identified as Mark Ryan Troemner, 20, a resident of Crestwood. Troemner’s family has been notified, and funeral arrangements are pending.

Cause of Death

According to the coroner’s preliminary report, the cause of death was “blunt force trauma.” Police have classified the incident as a workplace accident, though no further details about the circumstances leading to the trauma have been released at this time.

Investigation Ongoing

Law enforcement officials have indicated that an investigation is underway to determine exactly how the accident occurred. No arrests have been made, and the coroner’s office has not released an official autopsy report beyond the initial cause of death.

Community members are encouraged to contact the Louisville Metro Police Department with any information that might assist in the investigation. A hotline has been set up for anonymous tips.

Impact on Local Business

The Tire Discounters location remains closed while authorities conduct their investigation. The company has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident or its impact on operations.

Workplace safety remains a priority for local businesses, and this tragic event underscores the importance of rigorous safety protocols in all commercial settings. The Louisville Chamber of Commerce has previously advocated for stronger safety training and regular equipment inspections to prevent similar tragedies.

Support for the Family

Local churches and community organizations have expressed their condolences and are offering support to Troemner’s family. Several faith‑based groups have pledged to provide meals, counseling, and other assistance during this difficult time.

Authorities will continue to update the public as more information becomes available. Residents are asked to respect the privacy of the family while the investigation proceeds.
