According to a recent TruckerNavi analysis of FMCSA registration data, more than 20,000 pending carrier applications lacked liability insurance at the time of filing. “Most of these owners are not uninsurable. They are unquoted,” said Borovoy, who holds property and casualty producer licenses in 19 states and a broker license in New York. He explained that many applicants fill out forms in a second language, receive a brief email from an underwriter, and then receive no response, causing the file to die. SafeBridge’s desk takes the intake in the owner’s native language, checks the FMCSA record before any submission, and provides a concise six‑item list instead of a twelve‑page application.
Intake is handled in the three languages, and a complete submission is typically answered within one to two business days. SafeBridge places primary auto liability with federal filings and secures physical‑damage, cargo and general liability coverage through A‑rated national trucking carriers that accept new ventures, hot‑shot operations and auto haulers of up to five units.
Supporting immigrant entrepreneurs
The new desk grew out of TruckerNavi, Borovoy’s FMCSA compliance service, which identified the weeks‑long delays many new carriers face between receiving a USDOT number and finding an insurer willing to file. Borovoy’s analysis of stalled applications was published in the Commercial Carrier Journal on August 31.
