A teenage motorcyclist in Eagle, Idaho, found himself in trouble after a collision with a deputy’s vehicle. The incident occurred around 11:55 a.m. on Monday, May 25, near East Hill Road and Highway 55, according to Eagle Police.
The 16-year-old was reportedly riding an electric motorcycle on the wrong side of the road and behaving recklessly. When a deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the teen accelerated away. Although the deputy deactivated his lights, he continued to follow the rider, awaiting backup from additional units.
As the pursuit continued near Stephen C. Guerber Park, the young motorcyclist suddenly slowed down and turned in front of the deputy’s vehicle, leading to a collision. Despite efforts to detain him, the teen resisted and fled the scene.
Authorities later located the rider outside a residence in Eagle. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the crash. Following medical assessment, the teenager was cited for multiple traffic violations and released to his parents.
The case has been referred to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office for potential additional charges. The Meridian Police Department will spearhead the investigation into the incident, as stated by Eagle Police.
