St. Charles Foundation’s ‘Give for Good Day’ Aims to Support Local Health Services

The St. Charles Foundation is calling on the Bend, Oregon community to show gratitude and support for healthcare workers during its ‘Give for Good Day’ on May 28. This 24-hour virtual event has already raised over $45,000 towards its $80,000 goal, highlighting the community’s appreciation for the vital role of healthcare professionals.

Community Support for Healthcare Workers

Jenny O’Bryan, the executive director of the St. Charles Foundation, emphasized the significant positive impact healthcare workers have on the community. She encourages Central Oregonians to share positive messages with caregivers and consider donating to support their essential work.

Redmond resident Emma Meyers shared a heartfelt note of thanks for the care team at St. Charles Redmond, crediting them with saving her son Arlo’s life following a tragic auto accident when he was just 15 months old. Meyers expressed deep gratitude for the medical professionals, stating, “We truly believe that without the care, quick thinking, and expertise of the doctors and nurses in the Redmond ED, Arlo would not be here today.”

She further emphasized the profound impact of their actions, adding, “There are no words that could fully express the gratitude we feel for the people who helped save our son’s life that day. Their compassion, skill, and determination changed the course of our family forever.”

Fundraising for Essential Services

The funds raised during ‘Give for Good Day’ will benefit key areas within the St. Charles Health System, including emergency services, rural health, women’s and children’s services, the Cancer Institute, and cardiology. Community support has already begun to materialize, with more than a dozen individuals submitting stories of gratitude alongside their contributions.

The initiative not only provides financial support but also fosters a sense of community solidarity and appreciation for the healthcare workers who dedicate their lives to serving others. As the event progresses, the St. Charles Foundation hopes to reach its fundraising goal, ensuring continued support for these essential services.
