Grand Targhee Resort Unveils New Summer Camps for Kids

Families in Alta, Wyoming, have new summer camp options for their children at Grand Targhee Resort, which reopens for the summer on June 12. This year, the resort introduces two engaging camp experiences: Fred’s Adventure Camp and the Dirt Crew Bike Camp, designed to provide children with enriching outdoor activities.

Fred’s Adventure Camp

Fred’s Adventure Camp caters to children aged 6 to 12 who are eager to explore the great outdoors. Each day promises a new adventure, from wilderness survival to nature exploration. The camp also includes supervised pool time, games, and crafts, ensuring a well-rounded experience. Conveniently, the camp offers pickup and drop-off from Driggs, making it accessible for local families. For those who have purchased a winter season pass at Targhee, the camp is available at a discounted rate of $85 per day, or $72 per day for a full week booking.

The camp runs from June 22 through August 21, with each week featuring a unique theme such as ‘Wilderness Survival,’ ‘Spy Kids,’ and ‘Dinosaurs and Fossils,’ among others.

Dirt Crew Bike Camp

The Dirt Crew Bike Camp is a new addition this summer, aimed at young mountain biking enthusiasts. This camp is structured for children aged 6 to 12, offering a skill-focused program that blends riding sessions with games and drills. Younger riders, aged 6 to 9, participate in coach-led activities designed to build confidence, while older riders, aged 10 to 12, tackle more challenging terrains, including roots and rocks.

The bike camp also runs from June 22 to August 21, with weekly themes like ‘Being a Bike Doctor’ and ‘Maps and Finding Our Way.’ The cost for a 5-day camp starts at $649, with options for bike rentals if needed.

Families traveling from out of town can take advantage of a 20% discount on lodging when booking a full week of camp, making it an ideal opportunity to turn the camp week into a family adventure in the beautiful Teton region.
