San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, California, is once again on the lookout for a new head baseball coach. The school recently parted ways with Richard Schroeder, who served as the head coach for just one year. Under Schroeder’s leadership, the Royals achieved a co-Channel League championship this past season.

Coaching Changes at San Marcos

Schroeder took over the coaching position from Wes Ghan Gibson, who resigned in June 2025. Despite the frequent changes in coaching staff, the San Marcos Royals have maintained a strong performance, winning four Channel League titles in the past six years and reaching the CIF-Southern Section Championship game in 2023.
