Owned by Marco Mussi, this franchise offers over 20 flavors of sweet and unsweet iced tea, such as sweet Georgia peach and mango fresco, made fresh daily.
Another addition to the local scene is Perky Beans, a coffee shop opening in mid-June at 2651 E. University Ave. Founded by Angie and Ron Diaz, Perky Beans will serve a range of coffee and espresso-based beverages, smoothies, and light bites like muffins and sandwiches. This marks their second location, with the first in Leander.
In the realm of health and wellness, Medi-Weightloss, owned by Shankar Bellam, has opened at 101 Cooperative Way, offering supervised weight loss programs, diabetes treatment, and vitamin injections. Meanwhile, Healthy Smiles Dentistry, led by Dr. Sharon Mathias, plans to relocate to a new development on FM 971 by late 2026 or early 2027, continuing to provide dental services for all ages.
Community and Educational Changes
The local nonprofit formerly known as Assistance League of Georgetown Area is rebranding as Uplift WilCo, effective June 1. This change includes new programs and expanded philanthropic efforts, marking a significant shift in their community engagement strategy.
On a different note, Cosmic Roots Nature School, which offered a nature-based curriculum for pre-K through eighth grade, will close at the end of the 2025-26 school year. The school was known for its unique approach, incorporating outdoor education and extracurricular activities like gardening and art.
Additionally, The Junction, an entertainment venture by Cooley Capital Companies, is set to open on August 18 at 210 Blue Springs Blvd. It will feature four local dining options, including Sweet Lemon Kitchen and Dough-Go Pizza.
Lastly, Batteries Plus, owned by Mike and Arianna Marques, will open in mid-June at 900 N. Austin Ave., offering a wide range of batteries and device repair services.
