Iowa State Fair visitors can now skip long food lines by ordering from EatFuti, a delivery service marked by yellow-topped tents across the fairgrounds. Fairgoer Melissa Gentner said, “This is awesome… We stood in line for over 20 minutes, and we saw this. My husband was like, ‘We are going to order.’ Within five minutes, we got our food.”
EatFuti Delivery Service
EatFuti, which has been delivering food in the metro for a few years, began offering fairgrounds delivery this year after working with Iowa State Fair officials. QR codes posted throughout the fairgrounds connect customers with participating food vendors. Customers scan a code, browse vendors and select and pay for their food.
The service costs more than ordering directly from a vendor, but customers pay for the convenience of avoiding the line. Once an order is ready, an EatFuti runner wearing a yellow backpack picks it up and delivers the order to one of five EatFuti locations across the fairgrounds.
