The garden is free to the public and open daily, which makes it one of Henderson’s most generous gifts to visitors and locals alike. During the holiday season, the garden transforms into a dazzling light display called Glittering Lights, when thousands of LED lights trace every cactus spine and branch. It has become a beloved local tradition, and for good reason — there is something genuinely magical about seeing a desert landscape sparkle under a cold Nevada sky.
Then there is the chocolate. Ethel M has been crafting premium, liqueur-filled and gourmet chocolates since 1981, and the factory tour — also free — gives you a window-view peek at the production floor where confections are handcrafted in small batches. It is not a theme-park spectacle, which is exactly what makes it charming. You get a real sense of the craft involved, and the sample at the end is worth the five-minute walk through the viewing gallery on its own.
The retail shop offers an impressive selection: classic butter creams, single-origin dark chocolate bars, seasonal specialties, and beautiful gift boxes that solve the age-old problem of what to bring home for everyone back in the office. The staff is knowledgeable and patient, happy to walk you through flavor profiles and help you build a custom assortment.
