The Picklr, a newly opened indoor pickleball facility in Goleta, California, hosted a ‘Courtside Bash’ on August 8th to celebrate National Pickleball Day. The event offered free pickleball play all day, attracting both new and experienced players.
A Fun Day of Pickleball
Players of all levels participated in the event, enjoying a day of friendly competition and socializing. Madalena Flores, a 14-year-old Junior Pickleball State Champion and partnered athlete with The Picklr, expressed her enthusiasm for the sport. ‘It’s very fun day. There’s so many different levels, and I think it’s so cool how everybody can come together,’ she said.
Flores, a Santa Barbara native, discovered her passion for pickleball after initially being hesitant. ‘At first, when I heard pickleball I was like ‘I don’t wanna do this! I’m a big tennis player’ but once I did, it’s addicting. Don’t judge a book by its cover!’ she said.
The Picklr’s free day of play was a great opportunity for the community to come together and experience the excitement of pickleball. While every day can’t be free pickleball day, The Picklr invites everyone to join in on the fun anytime.
